Alton Towers Scarefest Returns For 2023
Alton Towers Resort has unveiled the spine-chilling lineup for Scarefest 2023, featuring a nightmarish new scare attraction in collaboration with online sensation Daz Games. This hair-raising immersive experience, known as “Daz Games: PANIC,” blurs the boundaries between escape room and live-action scare maze.
Renowned YouTube star Daz Black, celebrated for his Daz Games YouTube channel, boasting a massive following of devoted ‘Dazzlers’ with over eight million subscribers and a staggering two billion views, spearheads this terrifying venture.
The groundbreaking scare attraction stands as a one-of-a-kind endeavor. Participants are equipped with wristbands and thrust into the attraction’s eerie depths. Their mission: to locate two elusive symbols and escape within a mere seven minutes. Yet, they won’t be navigating this harrowing journey alone. Daz Games: PANIC subjects participants to a relentless battery of mental and physical trials as they race against the relentless ticking of the clock. Failure could lead to a nightmarish eternity trapped within the game.
A spine-chilling promotional video released by the Resort paints a haunting picture of Daz’s AI technology gone awry, as thrill-seekers sprint through dimly lit corridors lined with chain-link fencing, desperately seeking the symbols before confronting unspeakable terror.
Daz Black shared his excitement, saying, “It has been an incredible experience merging gaming, horror, and theme parks to create a completely unique scare attraction for Alton Towers Resort. I am super excited to see it come to life, and I hope fans will both love it and be absolutely terrified at the same time.”
In addition to this heart-pounding escape maze, Scarefest visitors can anticipate an array of spine-tingling scares, shocks, and spooktacular thrills. The Resort has introduced two more chilling scare attractions:
Burial Grounds: An outdoor scare zone enveloped by the imposing Wicker Man, offering a free-flowing experience for all guests. The Unchosen, a cult consumed by the lore of the Beornen, invite visitors into their sacred sanctum amidst ancient burial grounds. Keep your wits about you as you traverse this desecrated realm of unearthed remains, blazing shrines, and monstrous deities. Linger too long, and you might become their chosen victim. Are you prepared?
Altonville Mine Tours – Tiny’s Revenge: Refreshed for 2023, rumors abound that the dormant Altonville Mines have sprung back to life. Following a local law enforcement breakthrough, the notorious Skin Snatches have been apprehended, but for how long? Ironically named Tiny, however, remains at large within the Mines. Enter at your own risk, as you court adventure and danger, if you dare.
The Resort is also set to welcome back three award-winning, spine-tingling mazes and the family favorite Trick O Treat Town with HARIBO, now in its third year. The lineup of terrifying scare mazes and attractions comprises:
The Attic: Terror of the Towers: An unforgettable, bone-chilling experience unfolding in the eaves of the Theme Park’s historic Tower ruins. Local legends speak of ‘the Governess,’ eternally seeking retribution for the death of her charges by claiming the spirits of the living. But who will be her next victim?
Darkest Depths: Brace yourself for a terrifying voyage aboard ‘The Mutiny,’ a notorious ghost ship that sends shivers down your spine. You’ll earn your piece of eight by descending into the abyss, eluding the deadly calls of treacherous Sirens, dodging the blades of ghastly pirate mutineers, and confronting the legendary sea monster, the Kraken.
The Invitation: Pay a visit to the Lakeside Cemetery mausoleum, where a genial funeral director eagerly awaits your arrival. Enter the vault to select your final resting place, but proceed with caution; you won’t be alone, as some coffins are already occupied by restless occupants.
Trick O Treat Town with HARIBO: Here, every day is Halloween, and the townsfolk’s favorite pastime is trick-or-treating. Guests receive a tote bag upon entry and embark on a journey down Spooky Avenue, moving on to houses in Treat Street, Witchy Woods, The Graveyard, and The Hill. Knock on doors to collect sweet treats and spooky surprises, but beware, for tricks abound.
Additionally, Scarefest 2023 features a family-friendly lineup of live entertainment, including the Alton Ancestors, Freaky Five, and the CBeebies Land Monster Ball, where little monsters can join their beloved CBeebies Land characters for a special Halloween celebration.
With extended hours until 9pm each day, brave souls can experience the heart-pounding, hair-raising rides and attractions in the eerie darkness, including the Alton Towers Dungeon.
Scarefest will run at Alton Towers Resort from Saturday, October 7th to Sunday, October 8th, followed by daily thrills from Friday, October 13th to Tuesday, October 31st. Don’t miss this spine-tingling extravaganza!
