Attraction Information

Blue Planet Aquarium is a fascinating underwater world, located in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. It is home to over 100 living displays that offer a glimpse into the diverse and exotic marine life from around the world.

Visitors can explore the magnificent underwater tunnels that offer an incredible view of the large and small sea creatures, from Black Tip Reef Sharks to tiny seahorses. The Aquatheatre is a highlight of the experience, with live demonstrations and feeding shows with the resident divers and aquatic creatures.

For a unique and thrilling experience, visitors can dive into the water themselves and swim with the sharks, or try the snorkeling adventure in the coral reef tank. The children’s soft play area and pirate playground provide additional entertainment for the little ones.

In addition, there is an onsite restaurant, gift shop, and ample parking. Blue Planet Aquarium is a perfect destination for a family day out, a school trip or a group adventure.

There is level access to the restaurant

Where level access is not available ramps will be in place to allow access

There is a lift within the venue to allow access to the other floors.

Blue Planet Aquarium operates the standard admission policy that any paying visitor, standard, junior, or concession with special needs can be accompanied by one carer free of charge providing that the carer can present proof of carer status* on arrival at Reception.

Without proof of carer status standard admission entry charges apply.

They recognize ‘proof of carer’ status as an ID badge, a signed letter from an employer highlighting carer status, or a letter from the Department for Work & Pensions.

A visitor under 90cm with a carer would purchase a junior admission ticket with the carer admitted free of charge.

Assistance Dogs are permitted within the aquarium however they are not allowed within the pelican area

Assistance dogs must wear a vest to identify they are an assistance dogs.

You must let a member of staff no on arrival that you will be accompanied by an assistance dog so that they are aware there is a dog on site.
