British Wildlife Centre

Attraction Information

Discover the beauty and wonder of Britain’s native wildlife at the British Wildlife Centre. Established with the aim of educating people about the importance of preserving these incredible species for future generations to enjoy, the centre is home to over 40 native animals housed in large, landscaped enclosures that reflect their natural habitats.

From rarely seen species like otters, Scottish wildcats, and pine martens, to more familiar faces like foxes, deer, and badgers, as well as stunning free-flying British owls, the British Wildlife Centre provides an unparalleled opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the UK’s most fascinating creatures. Don’t miss the chance to walk among free-ranging red squirrels in their own wooded copse at the UK’s first Walk-through Red Squirrel Enclosure. Regular keeper talks throughout the day offer further insight into the behaviour and characteristics of these amazing animals.

For younger visitors, Pip’s Corner is a wildlife-themed activity area designed for children aged 3-6. And if you need a break, the centre also features a coffee shop, wildlife gift shop, and multiple picnic areas. With free parking and wheelchair accessibility, the British Wildlife Centre is the perfect day out for nature lovers of all ages.
