Coventry Transport Museum

Attraction Information

The Coventry Transport Museum is a museum located in Coventry, a city in the West Midlands region of England. It is dedicated to showcasing the history of transportation in Coventry, a city that was once a major hub of the British motor industry.

The museum features a large collection of vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and commercial vehicles, all of which were either manufactured in Coventry or have strong connections to the city. Some of the most notable exhibits include the world’s fastest car, the ThrustSSC, which was designed and built in Coventry and set the land speed record in 1997, as well as the Coventry-built London taxi and a range of classic cars from British manufacturers such as Jaguar, Triumph, and Hillman.

In addition to the vehicles, the museum also has a range of interactive exhibits, displays, and activities that explore the history of transportation and the impact it has had on society. Visitors can learn about the development of the motor industry, the role of transport in the city’s history, and the engineering and design processes that went into creating some of the most iconic vehicles of the past century.
