Jimmy's Farm and Wildlife Park
Attraction Information
Jimmy Doherty’s farm may look familiar to you from the BBC documentary. It’s a rare breed’s farm that’s home to a menagerie of animals, including ponies, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, goats, geese, ducks, cows, pigs and more.
Visitors to the farm can interact with the animals using the bags of food available, and can also get up close and personal with special animal encounters that take place every weekend and during school holidays.
Inside the butterfly house, you can observe beautiful tropical butterflies fluttering gracefully around you, and then take a leisurely stroll through the woodland walk with your family. Finally, you can head to the wooden playground to enjoy the bouncy pillow, giant sandpit, climbing pyramids, bouncy animals, play vehicles, sports challenge, and hobbit house. It’s a great mix of adventure play, outdoor exploration, and animal encounters that will leave your children happily exhausted at the end of a fantastic family day out.

With the money you receive dont you think it’s time you tarmac ALL car parks, pathways for the disabled relying on wheelchairs. I am a wheelchair user and a) my wheelchair will slip & stick on the gravel, b) from less than just 1-2 seconds I would be screaming in agony. You then mention sloping pathways, woodlands ect which means I will slide any way it wants putting me in a dangerous situation. In other words NOT REALLY DISABLED FRIENDLY. Not all wheelchairs are the same. Mine is provided by the NHS Rehability Centre to allow me to live an Independent Living but find its so dangerous when I am out and about. I tried the other day to visit a Cathedral that is displaying the moon, but the pavements were so bad banging and crippling my back, I had to stop and go back. I am only mentioning this so you may just think about the disabled people it’s not as easy as you make out. Have you tried borrowing a motorised wheelchair that has two larger full gripped wheels at the back but only 2 smaller smooth wheels at the front for the day. Try a number of weights attached around your waist then you may realise you are stopping a large of disabled people wanting to visit. 1 tramper scooter is like a needle in the hay.
