ZSL London Zoo
Attraction Information
Welcome to ZSL London Zoo – the world’s first scientific zoo! Boasting one of the UK’s largest and most diverse collections of animals, with over 750 species and 25,000 individual animals, this 36-acre park is a must-visit for all animal enthusiasts. With immersive exhibits and a wide range of animal house collections, it’s no surprise that this is a favourite family tourist attraction.
Animals and Attractions If you’re an animal lover but don’t know where to start, look no further. The orange route is home to jungle royalty, including the Asiatic lion enclosure, electric blue macaws, groovy llamas, and mischievous meerkats. Visit the Land of the Lions, a state-of-the-art facility where you can come face to face with majestic Asiatic lions. You can also help the forest rangers deal with their ‘lion emergency’ in the Gir Forest. For an even more immersive lion experience, book a stay at the Gir Lion Lodge, where you’ll be within roaring distance of the lions. Each stay includes three exclusive tours that take place after the zoo has closed.
But that’s not all. Make sure to visit the largest penguin pool in England and catch the penguins as they dive, swim, and feed. Watch the stunning Humboldt Penguin colony at the penguin pool, which provides cool underwater views and daily shows like Penguin Beach Live. Don’t miss the penguin nursery, where baby penguins learn to swim in a shallow pool – prepare for cuteness overload!
