Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire offers an exciting wildlife adventure where visitors can experience animals up close both from the comfort of their own vehicle and on foot. The attraction is divided into two main areas, beginning with the Road Safari, where guests drive through large open reserves to see animals such as lions, tigers, bears and other rare species roaming in spacious habitats. The drive typically takes around an hour and visitors can repeat the route through the reserves as many times as they like during their visit. After the drive through experience, the Foot Safari allows visitors to explore additional animal exhibits including sea lions, birds of prey, red pandas and other fascinating species, alongside a daily programme of keeper talks and demonstrations that offer insights into animal care and conservation.

The park provides a range of features designed to support a mobility friendly visit. There are 19 Blue Badge parking bays located in the main Leisure Area car park, positioned close to the Foot Safari entrance. Most of the leisure area pathways are accessible to wheelchair users, although some routes include gradients and certain surfaces such as loose substrate may make navigation more difficult in places. Alternative accessible routes are highlighted on the park’s accessibility map and staff are available to provide assistance where required. Many attractions within the Foot Safari are accessible by wheelchair, including Monkey Mayhem and Land of the Lemurs, while the Australian Walkabout is currently not accessible.

Visitors will find accessible toilet facilities at the main admissions building, the Safari Restaurant and the courtyard block near the Junglies Gift Shop, available with a RADAR key from staff. A Changing Places toilet facility is also provided at the park, although it may occasionally be closed for essential maintenance. The Safari Restaurant and Junglies Gift Shop both offer wheelchair accessible entrances and seating areas, with staff available to assist visitors where needed. The Great Woburn Railway includes a wheelchair accessible carriage, which can be reserved with the driver for assistance boarding.

The park also offers several accessibility resources to help visitors plan their day. Social scripts are available to explain what to expect during different parts of the visit, while communication boards and Widgit symbol guides help support visitors who use alternative communication methods. British Sign Language boards are installed throughout the Foot Safari, and dedicated SEND friendly workshops provide inclusive animal themed learning experiences for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Assistance dogs are only permitted in very limited areas of the park and are not allowed in the Road Safari or animal enclosures for safety reasons. Concessionary tickets are available for disabled visitors, including discounted admission options for a disabled guest and accompanying carer.

With its combination of drive through wildlife reserves, engaging animal encounters and inclusive visitor resources, Woburn Safari Park offers a memorable and largely accessible day out for families looking to enjoy wildlife experiences in Bedfordshire.
