Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park

Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park is a family-focused theme park located in North Yorkshire, offering a mix of rides, outdoor activities, and nature-based experiences. With over 40 attractions, the park is particularly suited to families with younger children, combining gentle rides with interactive play areas and scenic outdoor spaces.

A Changing Places facility is also available next to the Outdoor Play Area. This includes a hoist, changing bench, centrally located toilet, and additional support features. A key can be obtained from the Visitor Experience Centre.

The park operates a queue assistance scheme for guests who are unable to queue for extended periods due to a disability or condition that causes distress or discomfort. Eligible visitors may receive a preferential ride access wristband, allowing easier access to attractions. However, this system may not be available on quieter days when queue times are minimal. Guests are advised to speak to the admissions or Visitor Experience team on arrival.

To qualify for the ride access scheme, visitors must provide appropriate documentation such as a DLA or PIP letter, Access Card, Blue Badge, or a GP/consultant letter confirming the inability to queue.

Lightwater Valley also offers one free carer ticket for eligible guests. Supporting documentation is required, and the ticket allows entry for both the disabled guest and their carer. The carer is expected to assist throughout the visit, including supporting ride access where required.

As with most theme parks, some rides have physical requirements and may not be suitable for all guests. Visitors must be able to meet ride safety criteria, and staff may refuse access where there is a safety concern.
