Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach is a classic seaside amusement park located on the Golden Mile in Great Yarmouth. Known for its mix of traditional fairground rides and modern thrill attractions, the park attracts over a million visitors each year and offers a lively, nostalgic atmosphere right by the coast.
With free entry, visitors can explore the park at their own pace and choose between purchasing ride tokens or wristbands. Attractions range from iconic rides like the towering Skydrop to traditional fairground favourites, making it suitable for a wide range of ages.
The park provides a generally mobility friendly layout, with level access throughout and step-free entry via the main entrance and Gate B. This makes it relatively easy to navigate for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.
Parking is available adjacent to the park, although there are no dedicated disabled spaces within the main car park. Blue Badge holders can instead use the nearby St. Nicholas car park opposite the entrance, which offers designated accessible bays. Additional on-street parking is also available nearby.
Accessible toilet facilities are located in several areas across the park, including next to the Pleasure Beach Inn, behind the Haunted Hotel attraction, and near the main entrance by the information kiosk. These toilets include standard accessibility features such as grab rails, transfer space, lowered sinks, and emergency alarms. A RADAR key is required, which can be borrowed on-site for a refundable deposit.
The park offers discounted wristbands for eligible guests with disabilities. These must be purchased in person at the Sales and Information Kiosk and require proof such as a Blue Badge, DLA/PIP documentation, Access Card, or a doctor’s letter with photo ID.
While there is no formal ride access pass system, some rides allow access via exit gates to make boarding easier. Guests are advised to speak to ride staff on arrival for assistance. Visitors with disabilities are expected to be accompanied by a helper where required, particularly to assist with boarding, safety instructions, and evacuation procedures. Carers are only permitted ride access when accompanying the guest they support.
As with most theme parks, certain rides have physical requirements and may not be suitable for all visitors. Access may be restricted where safety could be compromised.
Guide dogs are welcome throughout the park but are not permitted on rides. They must remain supervised and cannot be left unattended.
With its flat layout, flexible entry system, and traditional seaside charm, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach is a good option for those looking for a mobility friendly and accessible day out on the Norfolk coast.
