Corinium Museum

Attraction Information

The Corinium Museum is a museum located in Cirencester, a town in Gloucestershire, England. The museum is dedicated to the history and archaeology of the town and the surrounding area, which was once the site of the Roman city of Corinium Dobunnorum.

The museum has a wide range of exhibits, including artifacts from the Roman era, such as mosaics, sculptures, and pottery, as well as objects from other periods of history, such as Anglo-Saxon jewelry and medieval coins. There are also displays on local geology and natural history.

One of the highlights of the museum is its collection of Roman coins, which is one of the largest in the country. Another notable exhibit is a reconstructed Roman garden, which gives visitors an idea of what a typical Roman garden would have looked like.

The museum also offers a range of educational programs and events, such as lectures, workshops, and guided tours, as well as activities for children.
