Fantasy Island is a well-known seaside amusement park located in Ingoldmells, offering a mix of high-thrill rides, family attractions, and indoor entertainment. Home to the towering Millennium Rollercoaster and popular rides like The Odyssey, the park delivers a classic British theme park experience with something for all ages.
Alongside its outdoor rides, Fantasy Island also features indoor attractions including arcades, bowling, and adventure golf, as well as a beach area where visitors can relax. Seasonal events, live entertainment, and a wide range of food outlets make it a lively destination for a full day out.
The park offers a mobility friendly experience with a number of accessibility features in place for visitors with disabilities and additional needs. There is an on-site car park with over 300 spaces, including 16 designated disabled bays located approximately 15 metres from the main entrance. Access from the car park to the park entrance is level, making arrival straightforward for wheelchair users.
Within the park, restaurants and indoor areas are accessible with level access. Accessible toilet facilities are available in two locations, including the Indoor Market and near the Olive Tree Ride. These facilities include lowered sinks, grab rails, transfer space, emergency alarms, and accessible washbasins.
For ride access, guests using wheelchairs must be able to transfer independently from their wheelchair into the ride vehicle and be capable of managing evacuation procedures if required. Staff are unable to assist with lifting or transferring, so visitors who require support should attend with a companion who can assist where needed.
Fantasy Island offers a carer discount rather than free entry. Carers can receive 50% off a wristband when accompanying a disabled guest, with the discount applied on the day. To qualify, visitors must provide appropriate documentation such as PIP or DLA paperwork, a Nimbus Access Card, a Disabled ID card, or a letter from a medical professional.
While the park does not operate a formal fast track or ride access pass system, it does offer a flexible queuing arrangement. Guests who are unable to queue can have a member of their group wait in line on their behalf. Once that person reaches the front, the rest of the group can join via the ride exit, helping to reduce waiting times.
Assistance dogs are permitted within certain indoor areas, such as the Pyramid, provided they are wearing the correct harness and appropriate documentation can be shown. Dogs must be supervised at all times and meet the park’s requirements for entry.
As with most theme parks, some rides at Fantasy Island may not be suitable for all guests due to safety restrictions. Visitors are encouraged to check ride requirements and speak with staff if they are unsure about accessibility.
With its combination of thrill rides, indoor attractions, and accessible facilities, Fantasy Island provides a fun and inclusive day out on the Lincolnshire coast, particularly for families looking for a mobility friendly amusement park experience.
