Harbour Park is a traditional seaside amusement park located in Littlehampton, West Sussex, offering a fun and relaxed day out for families with younger children. Positioned right next to the beach, the park combines classic fairground rides with family-friendly attractions and coastal views.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of rides, from gentle options like teacups, a mini ferris wheel, and tractor rides, to more exciting attractions such as the Water Chute, Pirate Ship, and Ocean Coaster. Alongside the rides, the park also features adventure golf, an arcade, soft play, and easy access to a large sandy beach, making it a well-rounded destination for a family day out.
Harbour Park offers a generally mobility friendly layout, with level access throughout most of the site and concrete pathways making it easier to navigate for those with limited mobility. However, due to the nature of some attractions, accessibility can vary between rides.
The park does not have its own car park, but the nearby West Green Car Park is located approximately 50 metres away and includes 12 disabled spaces. Blue Badge holders can park free of charge. There is level access from the car park to the park entrance, although visitors will need to cross a road. Additional on-street parking is available nearby.
Accessible toilets are available within the main Fun Park building and the Fishing Village building. These include wide doorways, grab rails, transfer space, lowered sinks, and emergency features to support accessibility needs. There are also additional public toilets behind the venue, including facilities for beach users.
While the majority of the park is accessible, some attractions such as the Castle Slide and Sharksville Adventure Golf are not suitable for wheelchair users. Rides that operate at height, including the Water Chute and Ocean Coaster, require guests to walk up stairs independently to reach the loading platform.
For many other rides, guests must be able to transfer from their mobility aid onto the ride either independently or with assistance from a companion, as staff are unable to assist with lifting or transfers for safety reasons. Riders must also be able to maintain an upright seated position.
Harbour Park provides free carer wristbands on a 1:1 basis for guests with disabilities. Carers must be over 16 years old and can only access rides when accompanying the guest they are supporting. To qualify, visitors must present valid documentation such as DLA/PIP paperwork, a Compass Card, or a Nimbus Access Card. Wristbands can be obtained from staff at the Gift Hut on arrival.
Although the park does not have a Changing Places facility onsite, there is a fully equipped Changing Place located approximately 600 metres away at the Creative Cafe Hub. This includes a ceiling track hoist, adjustable height changing bed, accessible shower, and additional support features.
With its flat layout, classic attractions, and seaside location, Harbour Park is a good option for families seeking a mobility friendly day out by the coast, particularly for younger children and those looking for a more relaxed theme park experience.
