Accessible tandem skydiving with AbleNet is designed for people who are disabled, visually impaired or have additional needs, proving that skydiving can be possible with the right support, equipment and instructors. Whether you want the classic 13,000 ft jump or you are aiming higher at 15,000 ft, each experience is delivered as a tandem skydive with a qualified instructor, so you can focus on the freedom, adrenaline and achievement of doing something extraordinary.

AbleNet works with carefully selected UK drop zones to provide inclusive tandem skydiving, with safety and accessibility at the centre of every jump. All drop zones operate under the British Skydiving governing body, and you will be supported by experienced, friendly staff from the moment you arrive through to landing and recovery.

For people with mobility limitations, AbleNet can arrange specialist support where available, including access to the UK’s exclusive “rainbow suit” at a partner site. This adaptation helps instructors support leg positioning for landing, opening up the experience to more people who may struggle with the standard landing position. For visitors who are blind, visually impaired, deaf or hearing impaired, the focus is on clear communication, calm guidance and a fully supported process from briefing to freefall to canopy flight.

A tandem skydive is an intense but structured experience. After your safety briefing and kit up, you will board the aircraft with your instructor, climb to altitude, then exit together for a fast freefall that can reach around 120mph. Once the parachute opens, the experience becomes calmer, allowing you to enjoy the sensation of flight and the views as you glide back towards the landing area. Friends and family are welcome to come along and watch, and you should expect the full experience to take around four to six hours including waiting time, weather checks and preparation.

Accessibility and Requirements
To protect you and your instructor during landing, you will need to lift your legs up in front of you. This means you must have enough strength, flexibility and limb control to achieve this, or AbleNet will need to explore suitable adaptations and an assessment. If you have limited mobility or reduced limb control, it may still be possible to skydive, but you must let AbleNet know in advance so the correct equipment and support can be arranged.

Weight limits apply and can vary by site, but the guidance provided includes 94kg (fully clothed) for women and 98kg (fully clothed) for men, with height and weight expected to be in proportion. Some experiences also reference a 15½ stone limit, so it is important to check the specific option you are booking. If you have chronic health issues or certain medical conditions, you may need a doctor to sign a British Skydiving medical form before you jump. Over 40s may also require a medical form signed by a doctor, and under 18s need parent or guardian consent.

Skydiving is weather dependent. High winds or unsuitable cloud cover can lead to postponement, and you should plan for flexibility on the day. AbleNet strongly recommends bringing a carer, friend or family member to support you after the jump, especially if you are travelling alone or anticipate fatigue afterwards.
