Beale Wildlife Park, located alongside the River Thames in Berkshire, is a peaceful wildlife attraction set within beautiful gardens, lakes and nature trails. The park offers visitors the opportunity to explore a variety of animal habitats while enjoying scenic surroundings. Home to a range of species including lemurs, monkeys, owls and deer, the park combines wildlife encounters with relaxing outdoor spaces. Visitors can stroll through landscaped gardens, watch animals in thoughtfully designed enclosures or enjoy family friendly attractions such as the adventure playground, sand pit and the Little Tikes Outdoor Village. A popular highlight of any visit is the miniature railway, which is included with park admission and provides a fun ride around part of the park for visitors of all ages.
The park offers several features to support a mobility friendly visit. Beale Wildlife Park has its own car park with five designated disabled parking spaces located approximately 20 metres from the main entrance. From the car park there is level access to the entrance, making arrival straightforward for visitors using wheelchairs or mobility aids. Inside the park, most pathways are concrete laid and generally suitable for wheelchair users, although some sections include wooden decking or gravel surfaces. Seating and benches are available throughout the park, allowing visitors to take breaks while exploring the grounds.
Additional accessibility features are available to support visitors during their visit. The ticket office includes a low level desk suitable for wheelchair users, and two manual wheelchairs are available to hire if booked in advance. The miniature railway includes an accessible carriage so wheelchair users can enjoy the train ride around the park. Visitors should be aware that some seasonal events may include areas with lower lighting levels.
Accessible toilets are located in several areas of the park, including near the ticket office and the central toilet block. These facilities include grab rails, lever taps, transfer space beside the toilet and emergency alarm systems to provide additional support.
Free entry is available for one carer accompanying a paying disabled visitor when appropriate documentation is presented. With its scenic riverside setting, family friendly attractions and accessible facilities, Beale Wildlife Park provides a relaxing and inclusive day out for visitors exploring Berkshire.
