Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park near Stirling offers an exciting wildlife day out where visitors can experience animals from around the world alongside family friendly attractions and activities. The adventure begins with the safari drive, where guests travel through large animal reserves to see species such as lions, rhinos, camels and antelope from the comfort of their own vehicle. One of the most popular sections of the drive is the Macaque monkey reserve, where the curious troop of monkeys often interact with passing vehicles. After the safari drive, visitors can explore the park on foot to see even more animals including giraffes, zebras, meerkats, penguins and sea lions. Educational talks, bird of prey demonstrations and sea lion training displays take place throughout the day, offering fascinating insights into the animals and their care. Families can also enjoy a wide range of attractions including a giant Fun Fort play area, pedal boats, amusement rides and a prehistoric themed dinosaur forest featuring life sized moving dinosaurs.
The park aims to provide a mobility friendly experience for many visitors. A dedicated disabled parking section is available within the main car park, and most animals in the safari drive can be viewed directly from vehicles. Throughout the walk around sections of the park, many of the pathways are concrete and provide relatively level access between attractions. Level access is available to many of the main animal areas including the lion, giraffe and tiger viewing platforms, Rhino House, Meerkat Mansion, Elephant House, Lemur Land, the Birds of Prey Centre, Sea Lion Building, dinosaur attraction and most eating establishments. Designated wheelchair spaces are also available at the bird of prey display.
Accessible facilities are provided across the site. There are three accessible toilets located in the main toilet blocks, equipped with grab rails, lever taps and outward opening doors. A Changing Places facility is located near the car park and includes an adult sized height adjustable changing bench, ceiling hoist, accessible shower, non slip flooring and emergency alarm. This facility requires a RADAR key which can be obtained from staff if required.
Blair Drummond Safari Park also provides support for neurodiverse visitors. The park participates in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower scheme and offers sunflower lanyards that can be borrowed free of charge. These discreetly indicate that a visitor may require extra support, patience or assistance, and staff will do their best to provide help or reduce queue times where possible.
Assistance dogs are permitted within certain areas of the park but cannot enter the safari drive or some animal areas including Lemur Land, the Birds of Prey Centre and areas near the lion and tiger enclosures. Visitors bringing assistance dogs should notify admissions staff on arrival and may be asked to provide proof of vaccination for animal safety.
Free entry is available for carers accompanying a paying disabled guest when suitable supporting documentation is provided. With its drive through wildlife reserves, accessible animal viewing areas and family friendly attractions, Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park offers a memorable day out for visitors exploring central Scotland.
