Blue Reef Aquarium Portsmouth is a family friendly seaside attraction located on Southsea seafront, offering visitors the chance to explore marine life from UK waters, tropical oceans and Mediterranean environments. Inside, you will find over 30 naturally themed displays featuring sharks, stingrays, seahorses, coral reef fish and other fascinating aquatic species. The underwater walkthrough tunnel is a highlight, allowing visitors to watch marine life swimming overhead, while regular talks and feeding sessions provide educational insight for all ages.
The aquarium is designed to be mobility friendly, with level access into the building and ramps throughout the venue to help visitors move easily between exhibits. An accessible toilet is available onsite and includes grab rails, a lowered wash basin, disposal facilities and an emergency pull cord. The attraction also offers free carer entry for eligible visitors, helping ensure guests who require additional support can visit comfortably.
While the aquarium does not have its own dedicated car park, there is a public car park next to the venue with three accessible parking spaces, along with additional on street parking nearby. The nearest Changing Places facility is located approximately 260 metres away at the D Day Museum Car Park Public Toilets, around a five minute walk from the aquarium.
With step free access, ramped pathways and supportive accessibility policies, Blue Reef Aquarium Portsmouth provides a practical and accessible indoor day out on the South Coast, suitable for families, carers and visitors with mobility requirements.
