Brean Theme Park

Brean Theme Park, located on the Somerset coast, offers a traditional seaside amusement experience with a wide range of rides and attractions for families, children, and thrill seekers. With everything from rollercoasters and fairground rides to arcades and nearby beach access, it’s a popular choice for a classic day out by the sea.

The park aims to provide an enjoyable and inclusive experience for all visitors, with staff available to assist where possible and clear guidance to help guests understand ride access and requirements. Seating areas and picnic spaces are available throughout the park, allowing families to take breaks and relax during their visit.

Accessible parking is available approximately 150 metres from the main entrance, with level tarmac surfaces throughout. However, parking charges still apply, and spaces are reserved for Blue Badge holders. The park itself is relatively compact, making it easier to navigate compared to larger theme parks.

For visitors who require support, Brean Theme Park offers a discounted Helper wristband rather than free carer entry. This allows a carer to accompany the disabled guest on rides for a reduced price. The helper must be over 16 and capable of providing full assistance throughout the visit, including helping with communication, supervision, and physical support where needed. Supporting documentation such as a Blue Badge, PIP or DLA letter, Access Card, or medical letter (with photo ID) is required to access this scheme.

It is important to note that the park does not offer a fast-track or queue assist system, so all guests are expected to queue for rides. Additionally, all rides are accessed via steps, meaning accessibility can be limited for wheelchair users or those with significant mobility impairments.

Accessible toilet facilities are located just outside the main park gates near the Pavilion Food Court. Assistance and guide dogs are welcome within the park but are not permitted on rides and must not be left unattended.

Due to the nature of the attractions, some rides involve physical demands, height restrictions, and safety requirements. Guests must be able to sit upright unaided and meet all ride conditions, and carers are responsible for assisting with transfers or lifting where required, as staff are not able to provide this support.

With its traditional fairground atmosphere, variety of rides, and seaside location, Brean Theme Park is a fun and lively option for families. However, due to step access on rides and the lack of queue assistance, it may be better suited to visitors with mild to moderate mobility needs who can attend with a capable companion.
