Diggerland Devon offers a truly unique family day out, where visitors can take control of real construction machinery and enjoy a wide range of hands-on activities. From driving full-size diggers and dumpers to taking on quirky challenges like digger-powered tenpin bowling, this action-packed attraction is designed to entertain children and adults alike.
The park features over 20 rides and experiences, including the Spindizzy, Groundshuttle, and Skyshuttle, alongside smaller digger activities and an indoor soft play area for younger visitors. It’s an ideal destination for families looking for something different, combining fun with interactive learning.
Diggerland is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive experience for visitors with disabilities and additional needs. The attraction has its own on-site car park with dedicated disabled parking spaces, all offering level access to the main entrance.
Inside the park, pathways are a mix of concrete, tarmac, and gravel. While most areas are accessible, sections with gravel surfaces may require assistance for manual wheelchair users. The park is generally mobility friendly, but due to the nature of the attraction and the use of real construction machinery, some rides may not be easily accessible for all visitors.
Many of the diggers and machines are operated using hand controls, which are power-assisted and do not require significant strength. However, guests should be aware that staff are unable to assist with lifting or transferring visitors onto rides, so carers must be prepared to provide support where needed.
Accessible toilet facilities are available in the main building and include handrails, transfer space, lever taps, and standard accessible features.
Diggerland offers free carer entry on a 1:1 basis for visitors who require assistance. In cases where additional support is needed, more than one carer may also be admitted free of charge, provided appropriate documentation is shown. Accepted forms of evidence include PIP or DLA letters, Blue Badge, Access Card, EHCP documentation, and medical letters.
Assistance dogs are permitted within the park but must be registered, kept on a lead at all times, and supervised. Proof of assistance dog status may be required on arrival.
While not all rides may be suitable for every guest due to safety and equipment design, Diggerland Devon still offers a fun, engaging, and mobility friendly experience for many families, with plenty of opportunities to get involved and enjoy a hands-on day out.
