Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium is a small, coastal attraction located on the historic Cobb harbour in Dorset, offering visitors the chance to discover marine life found along the Jurassic Coast. The aquarium focuses on local species, including octopus, cuttlefish, crabs, lobsters and starfish, alongside interactive exhibits such as a touch pool where visitors can safely get closer to selected sea creatures. Educational displays and knowledgeable staff help visitors learn more about the region’s marine environment and conservation.
The aquarium is mobility friendly inside, as it is based on one level and accessible for wheelchair users. However, the route leading to the entrance is made up of concrete and stone surfaces, which can be uneven in places and may require care or assistance for visitors using mobility aids. There is no onsite parking, but Monmouth Beach Car Park is located approximately 400 metres away and provides 13 accessible parking bays.
Assistance dogs are welcome inside the aquarium, and dogs on leads are also permitted. With its level layout and accessible exhibits, Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium provides an accessible indoor attraction in Dorset, particularly for visitors interested in local marine life along the Jurassic Coast.
