SEA LIFE Blackpool is a large indoor aquarium located on the famous Golden Mile, featuring over 2,000 marine creatures across more than 50 themed displays. Visitors can explore tropical ocean habitats, walk through the Ocean Tunnel surrounded by sharks and rays, and experience interactive zones such as rock pools and educational exhibits. Regular talks, feeding sessions and conservation displays make it a popular attraction for families and visitors of all ages.
The aquarium is mobility friendly, with level access at the entrance and lift access between floors, allowing wheelchair users and visitors with mobility aids to reach all main exhibit areas. Accessible toilets are available onsite, equipped with grab rails, emergency pull cords and step free entry. Tactile signage is also provided throughout the attraction to support visitors with visual impairments. Assistance dogs are welcome, although they are not permitted on behind the scenes tours for safety reasons.
While there is no dedicated onsite parking, accessible parking bays are available at nearby Bonny Street Car Park and Central Car Park, both located approximately 300 metres from the entrance with level access routes. SEA LIFE Blackpool also offers free carer entry for eligible visitors with valid proof of disability or carer status.
The attraction additionally provides sensory friendly support, including quieter visiting sessions, noise cancelling headphones available on request and dedicated “Quiet at the Aquarium” sessions held regularly, helping visitors with sensory sensitivities enjoy a more comfortable experience.
With lift access, accessible facilities including a hygence room with adult size changing bench and sensory friendly support, SEA LIFE Blackpool provides a mobility friendly and accessible indoor day out in Lancashire.
