SEA LIFE Scarborough is a coastal aquarium in North Yorkshire, home to a wide variety of marine life from the North Sea and tropical oceans, including sharks, rays, sea turtles and penguins. Visitors can explore themed zones such as Penguin Island, Coral Reef Kingdom and the Ocean Tunnel, offering immersive views of marine life and educational displays focused on conservation and rescue efforts.
The aquarium is mobility friendly, with accessible routes available throughout the attraction and lift access to the upper floor, where the turtles and restaurant are located. Due to the building’s layout, alternative step free routes are provided at certain points, and visitors will be able to access all exhibits using these accessible pathways. Accessible toilet facilities are available on the ground floor and include grab rails, a lowered wash basin and an emergency pull cord. Assistance dogs are welcome, and free carer entry is available for eligible visitors with valid proof of disability.
While there is no dedicated onsite parking, Scalby Mills Car Park is located approximately 100 metres away and provides 11 accessible parking bays.
With lift access, accessible facilities and alternative step free routes, SEA LIFE Scarborough provides a mobility friendly indoor day out on the North Yorkshire coast.
