The Deep in Hull is one of the UK’s most spectacular aquariums, home to thousands of marine animals including sharks, rays, turtles and tropical fish. Visitors can explore immersive exhibits such as the underwater tunnel and coral reef displays, as well as experience the dramatic glass lift that travels through a 10 metre deep ocean tank. Interactive exhibits, daily talks and hands on experiences help visitors learn more about marine life and conservation, making it a popular attraction for families and visitors of all ages.
The aquarium is designed to be highly accessible, with level access at the main entrance and step free routes throughout the building. Accessible lifts connect all floors, and display information is available in audio, braille and large print formats to support visitors with different accessibility needs. Accessible toilet and Changing Places facilities are available on the ground floor and include a hoist, adjustable basin, centrally positioned toilet and privacy screen. Assistance dogs and emotional support dogs are welcome.
Accessible parking is available onsite, with 14 designated accessible bays located approximately 60 metres from the entrance. The Deep also offers free mobility aid hire, including wheelchairs, electric scooters and walking aids, available on a first come, first served basis. Free carer entry is provided for eligible visitors with valid proof, and sensory packs and quiet sessions are available to support visitors with sensory sensitivities.
With step free access, Changing Places facilities, mobility aid hire and sensory friendly support, The Deep provides a fully accessible and mobility friendly indoor day out in East Yorkshire.
