SEA LIFE Blackpool is an exciting underwater world showcasing over 2,000 marine creatures from around the world. Visitors can journey through 50 different displays featuring everything from tropical sharks and rays to sea turtles, jellyfish, and clownfish. One of the highlights of the aquarium is the Ocean Tunnel, where visitors can walk through an underwater tunnel while surrounded by giant sea creatures.

SEA LIFE Blackpool offers a range of interactive exhibits and activities, including a rock pool experience where visitors can touch and learn about crabs, starfish, and other creatures. There’s also a behind-the-scenes tour where visitors can learn about the care and feeding of the marine animals, and even get the chance to feed some of them themselves. For those feeling adventurous, there’s the opportunity to dive with sharks in the aquarium’s Ocean Tank.

The aquarium is committed to conservation and education, with displays and activities highlighting the importance of protecting our oceans and marine life. SEA LIFE Blackpool is a perfect day out for families, school groups, and anyone with an interest in marine life.

This car park has 7 Disabled spaces and 127 General spaces, charges apply

Blue badge holders can receive up to 3 hours free but must display their arrival clock time within the window.

This car park is roughly 300M from the entrance of the aquarium. The access to the entrance from the car park is level and consists of concrete paths

Central Car Park

This car park has 34 Disabled spaces and 539 General spaces, charges apply

Access to the reception is on the ground floor and has level access, Wheelchair users can enter via the right-hand (fast track) doors to be served.

Sea Life Blackpool has 2 sets of toilets

The first set of toilets are situated when you first arrive upstairs on the landing, these toilets are unisex, with the facilities of baby change and an accessible toilet.

The main toilets are located inside the attraction, just after the ocean tunnel but before the Four Corners area.

There is also a shortcut to the toilets from the Stingray adventure area if required.

The entry door to the toilets is 0.84m wide and lighting in all toilet areas is good with ALCO safety flooring on a smooth level surface.

The door width to the accessible toilet is 0.87m wide, with a latch lock system on the inside.

When facing the WC there is a folding support rail to the left which can be easily lowered in order to assist with space to position a wheelchair and a red pull cord to the right of the toilet to be activated in case of an emergency.

The toilet itself is 0.43m high, the hand dryer is 1.1m high and the sink is 0.77m high with push button taps.

The toilet cubicle is 1.52m x 1.74.

Baby changing facilities are located in the male and female toilets.


Assistance dogs are permitted and the staff can provide water bowls on request however assistance dogs aren’t permitted to go on the Behind the Scenes tour for safety reasons.

Anyone accompanying a person with a disability, and holding a valid carer or companion card, is entitled to free General Admission to the attraction.

You will need to use ‘General Admission’ to purchase admission tickets for anyone who is not a Carer.

When you arrive simply present your tickets to the admissions team and your entrance will be honored. 

If you are a Merlin Annual Passholder and have additional needs and require assistance on your visits to the attractions, they issue one complimentary Merlin Annual Pass per Passholder with a disability to be used by any carer.

Guests with sensory sensitivity should note that the quietest periods are during the week (outside of school holidays), after 2pm. This will allow plenty of time to enjoy the full benefits the attraction has to offer.

Quiet at the Aquarium Sessions

On the first Sunday of every month SEA LIFE Blackpool will run a Quiet at the Aquarium session during the final hour of the day, to provide a quieter experience for those with autism and other sensory requirements.

During these sessions the centre music will remain switched off and televisions will be turned to a minimal volume.
