Wrest Park
Attraction Information
Wrest Park is a stunning country house located in Bedfordshire, England, surrounded by beautiful gardens and woodlands. The house was built in the 1830s and has been extensively restored in recent years to its former glory.
For disabled visitors, Wrest Park has made significant efforts to ensure accessibility. The house has designated parking spaces for disabled visitors located close to the entrance, and ramps provide access to the ground floor. A lift is available to take visitors to the upper levels of the house, allowing access to all areas.
In addition, there are audio guides available, providing audio descriptions of the various rooms and features of the house and gardens. This allows disabled visitors to fully experience the rich history and culture of the property without the need to read information panels.
The gardens at Wrest Park are a highlight of any visit. The gardens are accessible to all visitors, with level pathways and accessible restrooms available throughout. There are also designated picnic areas for visitors who wish to bring their own food and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The house also has a cafe, serving a range of hot and cold meals, snacks, and drinks, with accessible seating and service areas. There is also a gift shop, selling a range of souvenirs, books, and gifts.
Finally, becoming a member of English Heritage can provide access to Wrest Park and over 400 other historic sites across the UK. Membership includes free entry to sites, exclusive members’ events, and discounts on purchases.
