Attraction Information
Visit Howletts Wild Animal Park to meet over 400 fascinating animals, including classics like the largest herd of African elephants in the UK, tigers, lions, and primates like Tipah and Achilles. You may even discover new breeds, like Kent’s only giant anteaters.
The park has a thriving breeding programme dedicated to protecting vulnerable species, such as the two black rhinos who can be seen exploring their enclosure. With daily talks and feeds, you can learn plenty about these creatures. Kids can also have a blast in the dedicated play area, perfect for channeling their inner cheeky monkeys. Bring your whole family to experience a wild adventure and make some four-legged friends along the way!

This attraction has its own car park.
There is dedicated disabled parking close to the main entrance.
There is level access from the car park to the main entrance.
The park is generally flat with even pathways.
There are some gentle slopes.
There is one hill on a medium gradient; if you will require assistance at this point please inform a member of staff.Â
The walking paths are generally tarmac; please note some have tree roots running underneath them.
Walking with Lemurs:
This is a walk through enclosure where lemurs are not confined.
The structure has an ‘air lock’ door system . There are no steps to access this enclosure and there are wide doors for access.
Access to the Pavilion Restaurant is via steps at the front of the building or level access via the side door, which is a suitable width for wheelchair access.
Access to Coffee House Café has a ramp and wide doors to the side and a small step to the front of the building with wide doors that open outwards.Â
This attraction has 2 accessible toilets located in the following areas:
- Between the Coffee House and the BBQ
- By the Walking with Lemurs enclosure
Both facilities feature the following:
- Wash basin with lever style tap
- Handrails to the side of the toilet and wash basin
- Transfer space to the side of the toilet
- Disposal Facilities
- Emergency Alarm
Assistance Dogs are permitted within the park however there is a policy to follow please refer to the Dog Policy PDF for more information.
Howletts Wildlife Park offers discounted concessions for disabled visitors.
Concessionary tickets can be purchased at the Gatehouse upon arrival, and they are not available for online purchase through our website. These tickets are offered at a discounted rate compared to the standard full-price admission.
To be eligible for the discount you must provide evidence in one of the following forms:

- Attendance Allowance Letter
- Incapacity Benefit Letter
- Blue Badge
- Access Card
Howletts Wildlife Park offers A single free carer admission ticket and this is available for a disabled guest when purchasing a concessionary day ticket or membership.
