Abbotsbury Swannery

Attraction Information

Abbotsbury Swannery, located on the beautiful and rugged Dorset Coast, has become one of the most sought-after family destinations in the area. Not only is it a unique natural habitat for wildlife, but it has also been a popular location for film makers, including the Harry Potter franchise.

Get up close and personal with swans, and witness the natural splendor of these beautiful creatures in their element. With an observation platform, hide, and numerous benches, you can enjoy watching them with ease.

Children will love the site’s many attractions, including the largest willow maze in Dorset, complete with bongo drums and distorting mirrors. Tractor and trailer rides, pedal go-karts, and a Swinging Nests play area add to the fun. There is also a Swanherd’s Hut and History Room to explore, a Monks’ herb garden, and a Reed Cutter’s display. And if you’re planning a picnic, be sure to watch out for the bold birds!

Looking for an unforgettable experience? Come to the Swannery and hand-feed 600 swans at noon and 4:00 pm daily, while listening to a fascinating talk from the Swan-herd.
