Experience the ultimate in construction-themed excitement at Diggerland Durham! Kids will love the chance to get behind the wheel of a real-life digger, dumper or other full-size construction machinery on 20 thrilling rides (Height restrictions apply). Discover buried treasure on a mini digger or try your hand at digger-themed tenpin bowling with a mini wrecking ball.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Take a spin on the Spindizzy, an exciting ride that lifts you into the air and spins you around, or brace yourself for the bone-rattling thrills of the Groundshuttle. For a bird’s eye view of the action, climb aboard the Skyshuttle and soar 50 feet into the air. And when the little ones need a break from all the excitement, there’s an indoor soft play area for them to enjoy.

The car park has dedicated disabled parking spaces
There is level access from the disabled parking to the main entrance.
The pathways inside Diggerland are either concrete or tarmac or gravelled.
Where pathways are gravel some assistance may be required for those in manual wheelchairs.
Disabled visitors can use as many of the rides and drives as they would like during the day.
As they use real construction machines as the basis for the activities in Diggerland, please be aware that the machines may not be suitable or provide easy access for the disabled.
The marshals will supervise visitors where they can, but it is advised that the staff are not able to lift or assist disabled visitors.
Most of the diggers which the public can operate in Diggerland use hand operated controls only.
The controls are power-assisted and do not require great strength to operate them.
Disabled Toilets are located in the main building
These toilets feature the following:

- Handrails to the side of the toilet and wash basin
- Wash basin with lever style taps

Diggerland offers free carer entry to carers accompanying disabled guests on a 1:1 basis.
To be eligible for for free carer entry you must provide one of the following evidence:
- Blue / Orange Badge
- Attendance Allowance Book
- Disability Living Allowance (DLA) letter
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP) letter
- Access Card
- Attendance Allowance (AA) letter
- Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) from the Local
- Education Authority (LEA)
- Disabled Identification (DID) Card
- Letter from a medical authority i.e. NHS
- National Disability Card
If a disabled visitor requires 2:1 or 3:1 care, additional carers may enter Diggerland free of charge, however valid documentation must be shown upon arrival.
- Only dogs that are registered guide dogs or assistance dogs may enter Diggerland.
- Guide dogs or assistance dogs should be kept on leads at all times and must not be left unsupervised at any time.
- Guide/assistance dogs must be recognizable by the harness or organisation-specific coat. An ID tag must be on the dog’s collar or the lead slip they wear.
- Paperwork as proof that your dog is a guide/assistance dog may be asked for and as such should be ready to show upon arrival.
