Accessibility Information

This attraction has its own car park.

This car park has 7 Dedicated disabled spaces.

The disabled parking is roughly 55 Metres from the main entrance.

The car park is concrete laid.

There is level access between the car park and the main entrance.

The pathways around the park are concrete-laid.

The park is flat throughout where level wheelchair access is not available a ramp is situated in place.

There are seating areas throughout the park.

Wheelchairs are available to hire on request, subject to availability and a £20 refundable cash deposit payable at the admission gate.

Animal enclosures have low-level viewing suitable for those in wheelchairs.

Hearing induction loops are fitted to all four zoo admission gates.

This attraction has both disabled toilets and a changing place

Part of the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme – This can be collected at the Visitor Services Office, they just ask to see documentation such as a blue badge, diagnosis letter, proof of support payments, or other disability support card.

This attraction has 4 disabled toilets located in the following areas:

  •  At the main entrance
  • Opposite Go Safari!,
  •  Go Wild!
  • Explorers Café.

All of these toilets feature the following:

  • Wash basin with lever style tap
  • Handrails to the side of the toilet and wash basin
  • Disposal facilities
  • Emergency Pull Cord

This attraction has a changing place located in the Amazon Adventure Complex to access this facility speak to a member of staff within the complex.

The changing place features the following:

  • Height Adjustable Bed
  • Ceiling Hoist
  • Central Peninsular Toilet with drop-down handrails
  • Privacy Screen
  • Colostomy Shelf
  • Emergency Pull Cord

This attraction offers free entry to carers accompanying a disabled guest.

To be eligible for free carer entry you must present evidence in one of the following forms :

  • Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Access Card with the Essential Companion (+1) symbol

All evidence must be dated within 2 years of your visit to be eligible.

This attraction offers a Ride Access Pass.

To be eligible for the ride access pass you must present evidence in one of the following forms:

  • Blue Badge
  • Diagnosis letter
  • Disability support cards
  • Disability support payment letter

The ride access pass allows guests who have problems queuing to access the rides either via the ride exit or a dedicated entrance.

The first session of each day SPARK is open is reserved for SEND visitors and their families. To make your SPARK experience as hassle-free as possible, please read the helpful information below:

  • SPARK is situated towards the end of the Zoo Route by the otter and beaver enclosures. Please allow enough time to walk to SPARK in time for your booking.
  • If you have booked the 10.30am SEND-only session, please arrive at Drusillas in time for Park opening at 10am, to allow enough time to walk to SPARK for your session.
  • If there is a queue at the main Admissions Gate, SEND-only ticket holders are welcome to join whichever queue is shortest, to minimise their wait time.
  • Carers accompanying a paying disabled visitor are welcome free of charge (with evidence of DLA/PIP/ESA/Attendance Allowance/Essential Companion Access Card).
  • Please have your SPARK ticket ready to present either digitally or on paper at the SPARK entrance
  • Please be aware that your SPARK ticket does not include general admission to Drusillas.
  • SPARK is a highly sensory spaced filled with music, video imagery and bright lights (no flashing lights) and may be too much for visitors who are sensitive to light and sound.

Fully trained assistance dogs are permitted within the park.

Please note that Drusillas requires proof of qualification that one of the following is received; Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payments, Attendance Allowance, Employment Support Allowance, or an Assistance Dog Access Card for a fully trained assistance dog to enter the Park. 

Assistance Dogs are not permitted into the walk-through exhibits due to the stress this could cause the animals. The walk-through exhibits include; The Bats & Sloth Cave, Lory Landing and Lemurland. All other pets, including therapy dogs, are prohibited.

No kennel facilities exist. Please do not leave your dog in your vehicle whilst you visit – if they see this in the car park they will take action.

Drusillas is open every day of the year except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
