Flamingo Land is a theme park and resort located in North Yorkshire, England. The park boasts over 100 rides and attractions, from thrilling roller coasters like Mumbo Jumbo, one of the steepest roller coasters in the world, to family-friendly rides like the Dodgems and Splash Battle.

In addition to rides, Flamingo Land is also home to a zoo with over 140 species of animals, including tigers, lions, giraffes, and meerkats. Visitors can also enjoy daily animal shows and experiences, like the sea lion show and the bird of prey display.

Flamingo Land also has a wide range of dining options, from fast food to sit-down restaurants, and multiple accommodations options, including lodges and caravans, for those looking to stay overnight.

The disabled parking is roughly 40 metres from the main entrance.

There is level access between the car park and the main entrance.

The pathways around the park are concrete-laid and mainly flat.

This attraction has 5 Disabled Toilets.

This attraction has 1 Changing place room.

This attraction has a Queue Assistance Scheme.

 

Disabled toilets can be found in the following locations:

  • Plaza
  • Muddy Duck Farm 
  • Splosh!
  • Metropolis!
  • Muddy Duck Cafe

All of the above locations feature the following:

  • Wash basin with lever-style tap
  • Transfer space to the side of the toilet
  • Handrails to the side of the toilet and the wash basin
  • Disposal Facilities
  • Emergency Alarms

Adult disabled changing facilities are available in the first aid centre.

  • Guests with proof of disability can purchase two discounted entry tickets: one for themselves and one for their carer.
  • Acceptable proof of disability includes Department for Work & Pensions and Disability Living Allowance letters, but these must be accompanied by photographic proof of identity.
  • The policy aims to accommodate all disabilities, including those that may not be easily visible, and ID is requested to avoid causing offense.
  • Additionally, a free direct access pass is offered to guests who, due to their disability, are unable to use the normal queue lines (see Ride Access for more details)
  • Guests with certain disabilities may be eligible for a direct access pass at Flamingo Land, which allows them to skip normal queue lines.
  • Proof of disability is mandatory, and only Department for Work & Pensions or Disability Living Allowance letters will be accepted if accompanied by photographic proof of identity.
  • Eligible guests will receive a pass for themselves and one carer, and in some cases, an additional carer pass may be issued by Flamingo Land’s management if deemed necessary.
  • This pass allows entry to the majority of rides and attractions through the ride exit gates or as specified in the ride section.
  • Disabled persons are required to have a carer accompany them on rides to assist in the event of an evacuation, and carers are expected to perform any necessary lifting assistance.
  • Carers must be accompanied by a disabled person to be allowed entry to a ride or attraction through the exit gate.
  • The pass issued to individuals is a wristband type bracelet with the worldwide wheelchair emblem for disabled persons and a hand symbol to identify the carer.
  • Guests can obtain this pass from guest services upon arrival at Flamingo Land.
  • Disabled access passes at Flamingo Land are not designed to function as fast-track passes.
  • When disabled pass holders arrive at a ride or attraction, they will be attended to as promptly as possible.
  • It’s important to note that in certain situations, disabled pass holders may experience wait times similar to those in the normal queue line.

Wheelchairs are available on loan, free of charge from the first aid centre.

A non- monetary deposit is required such as a valid passport, driving licence, disability book etc before a wheelchair can be issued.

As wheelchairs are limited, it is recommended to pre-book the use of a wheelchair in advance of your visit by phoning the first aid centre on 01653 668 140. 

Assistance animals are welcome at Flamingo Land but they must be on a leash or harnessed at all times.

Assistance animals can accompany their owner as far as the loading areas but will not be permitted to ride any of the rides/attractions.

Assistance animals must remain with a member of the party whilst the owner is on a ride.
