Immerse yourself in the hidden world of UK waters and transport yourself to the spectacular “underwater gardens” of the Mediterranean and the stunning beauty of tropical waters. Discover everything from seahorses and puffer fish to living corals and native sharks.
Get up close and personal with marine life in a 15-meter-long underwater walk-through tunnel, a glass cavern, or through the large ocean window. With over 30 naturally themed displays showcasing the sheer variety of life in the deep, you’ll see everything from crabs and rays to amazing octopuses and turtles.
Take a voyage to the Native Zone and meet the native UK fish and sea creatures, including the Ballan Wrasse. If you head downstream to the Nursery, you’ll find budding baby sea creatures in their embryonic sacks, including the Big-bellied Seahorse – native to Australia and New Zealand, where the dads give birth to hundreds of fully formed seahorses!

Car parking is located next to Hastings Aquarium in the council pay-and-display car park – Rock-a-Nore Car Park

The ground from the car park to the entrance is flat and made of paving stones
If this car park is full the next closest car park is the Pelham Place Car Park which has 18 Disabled spaces & 258 General Spaces and is roughly 800M from the aquarium There are toilet facilities within this car park.
Access to the aquarium entrance is flat
The aquarium is based on one floor so access around the aquarium is wheelchair friendly with the exception of the underwater tunnel which has seven steps down to enter and seven steps up to exit the tunnel.
Some areas of the aquarium are kept purposefully darkened for animal welfare so please take care during your visit
The aquarium has one disabled toilet alongside the general toilets.
The disabled toilet does not require a key
The toilet contains the following:
- Lower Wash Basin
- Handrails to the side of the toilet and the wash basin
- Emergency Pull Cord
- Wide Entrance door
Changing Place
The closest changing place can be found at Stade Public Toilets.
The changing place is roughly 350M from the venue about a 5 minute walk

A carer can enter the aquarium free of charge alongside a paying disabled guest
Proof of disability or carers status must be provided on arrival using one of the following evidence:
- DLA/PIP documents dated within the last 12 months
- DR or Medical Professional Letter dated within the last 12 months
- Disability or Carers ID ( Access Card, National Disability ID, DID Card, Carers ID )
- Blue Badge
