Drayton Manor Resort is a popular family theme park offering over 100 rides and attractions, including the much-loved Thomas Land, a 4D cinema, zoo, and the exciting Viking-themed area. With a mix of high-thrill rides and family-friendly experiences, it’s a destination designed to appeal to visitors of all ages.

The resort is committed to creating a mobility friendly and inclusive environment, with a range of accessibility features and structured support systems in place to help guests with disabilities and additional needs enjoy their visit.

A key part of accessibility at Drayton Manor is its partnership with Nimbus Disability. Visitors must apply in advance for either a free Drayton Manor Digital Access Pass (DAP) or a paid Nimbus Access Card, both valid for three years. These systems replace traditional documentation and provide a standardised way to communicate access needs.

Guests with a valid Nimbus ID can access the Essential Companion Ticket scheme. This allows eligible visitors to bring one or two companions into the park free of charge, depending on whether their Access Card displays a +1 or +2 symbol. Essential Companion tickets are issued on arrival when presenting the relevant Nimbus ID.

For visitors who are unable to queue due to physical, cognitive, or sensory needs, the Easy Access Service is available. This system allows guests to access rides via alternative entrances such as exit gates or designated access queues. Eligible guests receive a wristband from Guest Services and can be accompanied by one or two carers, depending on their Nimbus assessment. This service provides more flexible and manageable access to rides throughout the day, although some exclusions apply, such as the 4D cinema and certain attractions.

The park offers a range of accessible facilities to support visitors. Disabled parking is available close to the entrance, and wheelchair and mobility scooter hire can be arranged on a first come, first served basis. There is a hire charge, along with a refundable deposit, so guests may prefer to bring their own equipment where possible.

Accessible toilets are located throughout the park, and a dedicated hoist-equipped changing facility is available within the Medical Centre. This includes an adult changing bed, hoist system (guests must bring their own sling), and emergency assistance alarm, providing additional support for visitors with complex needs.

Assistance dogs are permitted within the park but must remain on a lead or harness at all times. They are not allowed on rides or in ride queues, and must stay with a member of the visitor’s group.

As with most theme parks, some rides at Drayton Manor have physical requirements due to safety restrictions. Guests are encouraged to review ride accessibility guidance in advance, as access may be limited depending on individual needs. Staff are unable to assist with lifting or transferring guests, so carers should be prepared to provide support where required.

With its wide variety of attractions, structured accessibility systems, and strong partnership with Nimbus Disability, Drayton Manor Resort offers a well-supported and inclusive day out. It is a great option for families looking for an accessible and mobility friendly theme park experience in Staffordshire.
