Funland Hayling Island is a traditional seaside amusement park offering a great value family day out beside the blue flag beach at Hayling Island. With a mix of indoor and outdoor attractions, this classic funfair has something for all ages, from rollercoasters and dodgems to ten pin bowling, arcades, soft play, and fairground games.
Visitors can enjoy three rollercoasters, family rides, arcade machines, and attractions such as Kidz Kingdom indoor soft play, as well as a scenic seaside train that runs along the beachfront. The park’s relaxed coastal setting and affordable entertainment make it a popular choice for families looking for an easy and enjoyable day out by the sea.
Funland aims to provide an inclusive and accessible experience for disabled guests and those with additional needs. Access into the main entrance and around the site is level, making it easier to move between attractions, food outlets, and facilities. Food establishments across the site are also accessible.
The on-site car park does not have dedicated disabled bays, and the surface is a mixture of sand and stone, which may make access more difficult for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. Some visitors may require assistance from the car park to the entrance.
There is one accessible toilet on site, equipped with fixed handrails, transfer space, and disposal facilities.
Some rides are accessible to wheelchair users, although transfer from the wheelchair onto the ride is required. As with most amusement parks, individual ride access is subject to health and safety requirements, and staff may restrict access to certain rides where necessary.
Funland operates an accessibility and carer access policy in line with the Equality Act 2010. Guests with a recognised photographic disability access card, such as a Nimbus Access Card, showing a +1 or +2 symbol, can receive £5 off one wristband for the disabled guest and £5 off one wristband for the carer. The number of discounted carer wristbands is limited to the number shown on the access card. The named cardholder must be present, and screenshots, photocopies, or expired cards are not accepted.
If a guest does not have an access card but needs reasonable adjustments, Funland encourages them to speak to a member of staff on arrival to discuss available support.
As a BALPPA member, Funland follows industry safety guidance, which means some rides and attractions may not be suitable for every guest. Decisions on ride access may be made in the interest of guest safety.
With its classic seaside atmosphere, range of family attractions, and accessible support policy, Funland Hayling Island is a good option for those looking for a mobility friendly amusement park experience in Hampshire, particularly for families wanting affordable fun by the beach.
