Sundown Adventureland is a family-focused theme park designed specifically for children under 10. Known for its calm atmosphere, themed play areas, and gentle rides, it offers a more relaxed and inclusive alternative to larger UK theme parks, making it particularly popular with families seeking a quieter day out.

The park features a variety of themed areas including storybook attractions, indoor and outdoor play zones, and interactive experiences. Many rides are gentle and suitable for younger children, with an emphasis on imaginative play rather than high-intensity thrills.

Sundown Adventureland provides a highly mobility friendly environment, with flat pathways throughout the park. Surfaces are mainly concrete or block paving, making navigation easier for wheelchair users and those with mobility scooters. One area, Cowboy Street, features loose bark and boardwalk sections where some assistance may be required.

Parking is available on-site, with designated disabled parking bays located close to the main entrance for Blue Badge holders, helping reduce walking distance into the park.

The park offers a discounted admission rate for disabled guests and their carers. Visitors must provide valid documentation such as DLA, PIP, or a photographic Blue Badge dated within the last 12 months. Without valid proof, standard admission prices will apply. Wheelchair and mobility scooter users may be admitted free of charge if entering in their own equipment, as some rides are not accessible.

For guests who require additional support with queueing, Sundown Adventureland offers a Ride Access Pass (Queue Assist Pass). This is designed for visitors who may struggle to queue and requires supporting documentation on arrival. The pass helps make access to rides easier but does not guarantee immediate access.

Ride access across the park is generally good, with wheelchair access to ride platforms. However, guests must be able to transfer from their wheelchair onto the ride, with assistance from a carer. Carers are required to ride alongside and assist with boarding, disembarking, and any emergency situations, as staff are unable to provide lifting assistance.

Accessible toilet facilities are available at multiple locations including the main entrance, Rodeo Corral Café, and Crash Landings Café. These toilets include standard accessibility features such as grab rails, transfer space, and accessible layouts. At present, there is no Changing Places facility, although plans are in progress to introduce one in the future.

Wheelchair hire is available from the main entrance, subject to availability. A £50 refundable deposit and £5 daily hire fee apply, and it is recommended to pre-book due to limited stock.

All restaurants, cafés, shops, and picnic areas are wheelchair accessible, ensuring visitors can comfortably enjoy the park’s facilities throughout their visit.

Assistance dogs are welcome within the park but are not permitted on rides. They must remain on a lead or harness and supervised at all times.

As with all theme parks, ride access is subject to strict health and safety requirements. Some attractions may not be suitable for all guests, particularly those with certain medical conditions or injuries such as broken limbs. Staff may restrict access where necessary to ensure safety, and all decisions are made in line with industry guidelines.

With its flat layout, gentle attractions, and supportive accessibility features, Sundown Adventureland is a strong option for families looking for a mobility friendly and inclusive day out tailored to younger children.
