The Swansea Building Society Arena is a modern, multi-purpose venue located in the heart of the Copr Bay development. Opened in 2022, this 3,500-capacity arena hosts a wide range of events including live music, comedy, theatre, e-sports, and conferences, offering a contemporary and flexible space designed with accessibility in mind.
The arena has been built to provide a fully accessible experience from arrival through to seating. Step-free walkways lead directly to the main entrance, including a sloping route from the city centre via Copr Bay Bridge and an additional accessible pathway from Oystermouth Road. The adjacent car park also offers lift access, ensuring a smooth journey into the venue.
Inside, all areas are served by lifts, making every level accessible. The layout is spacious and easy to navigate, with wide walkways and step-free routes throughout. Food and drink kiosks feature lowered counters for ease of use, and an at-seat ordering service allows visitors to order refreshments directly to their seat, helping to reduce the need to queue or move through busy areas.
Accessible seating is available across the auditorium, with fixed wheelchair positions in both the Front and Rear Circle. On the Stalls level, seating is flexible depending on the event, allowing for adaptable wheelchair positioning while maintaining clear sightlines. All wheelchair spaces include the option for a companion seat, and bookings can be arranged through the dedicated access line to ensure the most suitable seating is provided.
Accessible toilets are available on every level of the arena, along with baby changing facilities. Additional support, such as baby feeding facilities, can be provided on request, and staff are available to assist wherever needed.
Assistance dogs are welcome within the venue, with designated seating areas available for those who wish to keep their dog with them. Alternatively, the arena offers a dedicated space where dogs can be cared for by trained staff during the event, including access to water and comfort breaks, ensuring both guests and their assistance animals are well supported.
The arena also offers hearing support via the Mobile Connect system, which can be used from any seat in the auditorium. Accessible performances, including audio described, captioned, and BSL interpreted events, are available on selected dates.
As a modern venue purpose-built with accessibility in mind, Swansea Building Society Arena provides a highly inclusive and comfortable experience, making it one of the most accessible entertainment venues in the UK.
