The London Eye is one of the capital’s most recognisable landmarks, rising above the South Bank of the River Thames and offering panoramic views across the city. From the comfort of its enclosed glass capsules, visitors can take in sweeping vistas that include the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, St Paul’s Cathedral and, on a clear day, landmarks stretching far beyond central London. Whether experienced in daylight or as the city lights begin to glow at dusk, the London Eye provides a memorable and immersive way to see London from above.
Accessibility is well integrated to ensure a mobility friendly experience for a wide range of visitors. The attraction can accommodate wheelchairs and mobility scooters up to 94cm in width, and step free access is available throughout the boarding process. An accessible Fastrack queue line is available, with staff on hand to provide assistance where needed. Induction loops are fitted at the ticket tills, and trained team members are available to support guests with additional requirements. Assistance dogs, including guide and hearing dogs, are welcome on board the capsules.
Two accessible toilets are available on site, one of which requires a RADAR key. A complimentary carer ticket is offered when accompanying a paying disabled guest, with appropriate supporting documentation required. Evidence such as Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, a Blue Badge or equivalent international proof of disability may be requested. Carers must be aged 14 or over.
With its fully enclosed capsules, inclusive boarding arrangements and central riverside location, the London Eye offers an accessible and unforgettable way to experience London’s skyline.
