The Newark Air Museum is a museum located near Newark-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire, England. It is dedicated to the preservation and display of historic aircraft, aviation artifacts, and memorabilia. The museum is located on part of the former World War II airfield of Winthorpe, and its collection includes over 75 aircraft, as well as engines, missiles, and other aviation-related items.

The museum is spread across several hangars and outdoor display areas, with exhibits arranged chronologically from the early days of aviation to the present day. Some of the highlights of the museum’s collection include a Vulcan bomber, a Victor bomber, and a Varsity trainer, among others.

In addition to the exhibits, the museum offers a range of educational programs and events for visitors of all ages. There are regular tours, talks, and workshops on a variety of topics, from the history of aviation to the technology behind modern aircraft.

This attraction has its own car park.

This car park has dedicated disabled parking in front of the entrance.

There are 8 dedicated spaces.

The car park is gravel laid and some assistance may be required for those in a wheelchair.

There is level access from the car park to the main entrance.

Access and exit is via ramped wheelchair access with handrails. The main access and exit doors are wide to allow for easy wheelchair access.

The main entrance is a single door some larger mobility chairs may struggle to enter it speak to a member of staff to arrange alternate entry.

Special tours can be pre-arranged for the visually impaired, which enables greater handling of display objects.

The site is on one level and has level access throughout.

Due to the former airfield location, some aircraft are displayed in grassed locations and some of the larger aircraft that are occasionally open to the public do not have wheelchair access.

The Cafe is opposite the Museum Shop and is accessed via ramped wheelchair access with handrails.

This attraction has a disabled toilet located in the main toilet block.

These toilets are not dedicated disabled toilets and are included in the male & female toilets.

These toilets feature the following:

  • Wash basin with lever-style tap
  • Disposal Facilities
