Northumberland Country Zoo offers a delightful day out surrounded by nature, where you can meet some of the cutest and cuddliest creatures around.
Located in the heart of Northumberland, this 15-acre zoo is home to a diverse range of animals. From snow leopards and raccoons to Shetland ponies, pigs, and donkeys, you’re sure to find an animal friend to adore. There are also plenty of small and adorable furry creatures, reptiles, and fish to explore, providing something for everyone.
If you’re looking for a fun way to burn off some energy, head to the Bear Falls Soft Play area, which is perfect for kids. With a toddler area, a 4m slide, and a hidden find-and-seek game, your little ones will be entertained for hours. On sunny days, the outdoor play area is a great place to run around and play, with plenty of seating and picnic areas for families to relax and enjoy some refreshments.
Make sure to take a walk through the Parrot House before you leave, where you’ll find some of the most beautiful and colorful parrots. With so much to see and do, Northumberland Country Zoo is an unforgettable experience that will leave you with a heart full of happy memories.

This car park has dedicated disabled parking
The disabled parking is roughly 30 metres from the entrance
The car park is hardstanding with a loose gravel coating
There is level access from the car park to the main entrance

The pathways around the park are mainly tarmac however some areas may require assistance for those in a wheelchair where the pathway is compact dirt.
Pathways can become muddy in bad weather and some assistance may be required for those in a wheelchair.
River walk is not accessible to wheelchair users.
This attraction has 3 disabled toilets located in the following areas:
- Opposite the cafe,
- near Wallaby Walkabout,
- next to the Adventure Land outdoor play area
These toilets feature the following:
- Handrails to the side of the toilet
- Disposal Facilities
- Wash basin with lever style tap
This attraction offers free entry to carers visiting alongside a paying disabled guest.
To be eligible for free entry you must provide evidence in one of the following forms:
- DLA Paperwork
- PIP Paperwork
- DR’s Letter stating disability
Assistance Dogs are permitted within this attraction however there are guidelines to follow:
Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times and under strict control.
Zoo animals and dogs can react to each other, so we ask that if you notice any behaviour changes or interactions, please move on to another exhibit.
Your dog must remain calm and quiet and at least one metre away from any animal enclosure fences and windows.
Please ensure your dog is fit and healthy when visiting the Zoo, and has not shown any signs of ill health – including diarrhoea and vomiting – in the last 24 hours. They must have been resident in the UK for the last 6 months and have received all annual vaccinations and anthelmintic treatments.
Dogs must not be left unattended; at all times they must remain with an adult and on a short lead.
Dogs must not be allowed to defecate anywhere in the zoo grounds and any incidents should be cleared away by their owners.
