Attraction Information
Come visit Birdworld, a 26-acre park with over 1,200 birds and a variety of animals, offering a fun day out for the whole family. Explore the park’s extensive landscaped gardens, farm, and children’s playground area. You can discover more than 200 different species of animals from around the world, including parrots, penguins, and flamingos. There’s plenty to learn with daily talks and live animal feeds, giving you a better understanding of the park’s animals and their habitats. Birdworld is also committed to conservation and offers visitors the opportunity to learn about its breeding and conservation projects to help preserve the world’s bird population.
Experience the popular Jenny Wren Farm, home to a variety of farmyard animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs, and sheep. Penguin Island and Penguin Beach are home to two colonies of penguins, and visitors can watch them during daily penguin feeds or even participate in a penguin feeding experience! The Outback Landing exhibit is a walkthrough aviary where you can get up close to some of the Australian Outback’s most iconic birds. For those who love owls, Owl Parliament is a quieter corner of the park dedicated to these majestic birds, including Snowy Owls and Burrowing Owls.

This attraction has its own car park.
This car park has dedicated disabled parking.
The disabled parking is roughly 30 metres from the main entrance.
The car park is concrete laid.
There is level access from the car park to the main entrance.
The pathways are level.
The pathways are a mix of Tarmac, Shingle & Grass.
There is step-free access around the site however there are some slight slopes.
Some assistance may be required with doors on some walkthrough exhibits.
The restaurant and shop are wheelchair accessible.

This attraction offers free entry for carers visiting alongside a paying disabled guest.
To be eligible for free entry you must present evidence in one of the following forms:
- PIP Paperwork
- DLA Paperwork
- DR’s letter on NHS headed paper
Registered assistance dogs are welcome at Birdworld.
Assistance dogs registered with the following accredited organisations are welcome to visit Birdworld when accompanied by and under the control of their owners.

It is essential that they are able to guarantee such standards, to fulfil their biosecurity regulations, which is part of their Zoo Licencing requirements, and this is why they do not permit access to animals not registered with one of the above organisations.
Assistance dogs will be required to wear an identifying harness, jacket or lead slip at all times whilst on the premises. Please be aware entrance for a dog will be refused if identification cannot be provided.
Please note there are certain areas where assistance dogs may not enter.
Access to all animal walkthrough exhibits is not permitted due to biosecurity regulations. This includes Seashore Walk, Flamingo Cove, Outback Landing, Penguin Beach, The Temperate House Jenny Wren Farm, the Discovery Theatre and the Outdoor Flying Arena.
Access may also be restricted near to the enclosures of species where there is known experience of visualisation of dogs causing distress.
On arrival, owners will be asked to complete a disclaimer to verify the health of their assistance dog, acknowledge they have received and understand the map indicating the areas where assistance dogs may not enter, and agree to keep their assistance dog under close control.
