Natureland Seal Sanctuary
Attraction Information
Natureland Seal Sanctuary is a popular wildlife sanctuary and rescue center located in Skegness, Lincolnshire, UK. It is well-known for its work in rescuing and rehabilitating seals that are injured, abandoned or sick along the Lincolnshire coastline.
The sanctuary provides a safe haven for a variety of animals, including seals, penguins, meerkats, goats, and many others. Visitors can witness feeding sessions and get up close to the animals, with opportunities to pet and feed them under the supervision of trained staff. The sanctuary also has an extensive breeding program for endangered species such as Humboldt penguins.
In addition to the animals, there are several indoor and outdoor play areas for children, a gift shop, and a cafe serving homemade food. Visitors can also learn about the history of the sanctuary and the conservation work they do through interactive displays and exhibits. Overall, Natureland Seal Sanctuary is an educational and entertaining destination for families and animal lovers alike.
Accessibility Information
Natureland does not have its own car park however  a council-run pay and display car park can be found 100m North of Natureland. There is limited on-road parking on the opposite side of the street outside Natureland
There are no steps up to, outside or leaving the entrance. The main double doors are manual. Each is 1120mm wide and the door through to the animal enclosures is 1120mm wide. There is a tiled floor in the entrance. Once through the ‘in’ door Natureland is on two levels with the lower section accessed by slopes, with a 1:8 (approx) (12.5%) gradient, either side of the main seal pool
All of the outside enclosures have walls inset with large windows to view the occupants. The main Resident Seal Pool has a raised platform with glass panels so wheelchair users can enjoy feeding times.
All buildings are ramped for easy access with concrete floors in the Tropical House and the Aquarium. At the end of the Crocodile Bridge in the Tropical House, there are steps down to the exit and visitors must retrace their steps back to the entrance (about 30 feet). All of the exhibits can still be seen. The building is heated to accommodate the animals so all doors are kept closed to retain the heat. However, chains are fitted to all doors and hooks on walls to hold the doors open temporarily for access.
The disabled toilets are located in the restaurant and in the picnic area near the Aquarium.Â

- The toilets have a light and easily managed door 930mm wide. The toilet height is 450mm, there is a vertical handrail adjacent to the toilet and hand washing basin and a horizontal rail on the side wall adjacent to the toilet.Â
- An emergency pull cord is easily reached from the toilet.Â

- There are lever taps on the sinks.
- The room near the Aquarium is 2133.6mm (7 feet) by 1249.68mm (4 feet 10 inches).
- The room in the restaurant is 2133.6mm (7 feet) by 1584.96mm (5 feet 2 inches).

The closest changing place is Tower Gardens.
The changing place is roughly 850M from the venue around a 15 minute walk.

The restaurant has ramped access and is level throughout with tables widely spaced. The flooring is non-slip. Staff can help with questions on dietary restrictions. The restaurant is self-service but staff are happy to assist on request. During very busy times this assistance may be limited.
The double doors to the Gift Shop are each 1120mm wide with level access from the outside and floors are level throughout. Staff are happy to offer assistance when required.
The paths are paved or concreted and they have many benches around the park for visitors to take a little time out on. The undercover picnic area has tables with fixed benching on either side but room for wheelchairs at the table ends.
Dog bowls can be found around the site for furry visitors to rehydrate whilst enjoying their visit.
