Prepare to be enchanted on a mesmerizing journey through the hidden treasures of the ocean at Bristol Aquarium! Don’t miss the chance to explore over 40 naturally-themed displays, including the UK’s only aquarium with a giant botanical house. This unique exhibit features not only a dazzling array of marine life and colorful fish but also an exotic collection of tropical tree species and plants.

Witness thousands of breathtaking aquatic creatures gracefully gliding through the water, such as seahorses, pufferfish, piranhas, and even delicate baby moon jellyfish. Traverse the Bay of Rays, the Mighty Amazon, and the Coral Seas, feeling as though you’ve been transported directly to the Great Barrier Reef.

Discover hundreds of different species of aquatic wildlife, from baby seahorses and zebra sharks to a magnificent ocean display. Walk through the Underwater Tunnel and gaze in awe as sharks and fish swim overhead in a stunning 250,000-liter display. Marvel at the variety of rays, such as the graceful Cownose Rays, eels, soldierfish, and an array of coral reef fish, including Nemo the clownfish and Dory the blue tang. And don’t forget to keep an eye out for the coral reef’s sea anemones and other exotic fish.

Accessibility Information

The Aquarium does not have its own parking but a public car park can be found roughly 200M from the aquarium ( Millennium Square Car Park)

This car park has 550 Spaces

22 of these are Disabled parking bays that are located next to the main vehicular, pedestrian entrance and lifts

There is on-street Blue Badge parking this is located in Canons Road to the rear of the aquarium

  • The aquarium has ramps throughout and multi-level viewing.
  • They are two wheelchairs available for visitors to use there is a £20 deposit Please call us at 0117 929 8929 to book this out.
  • A hearing loop is in operation at the entrance of the Aquarium, as well as some parts of the display area.
  • Talks and feeding demonstrations are announced throughout the aquarium over a tannoy system and are also displayed at the entrance on a TV screen.
  • In some areas of the Aquarium there is low lighting for the welfare of our marine life, creating a more natural environment for them.
  • Some staff have disability awareness, BSL and Next Generation Text training

There are two accessible toilets located on the ground floor, both approximately 50m into the aquarium on the ground floor

One is unlocked and includes a baby change area

These facilities are available for paying and non-paying visitors.

Free entry for a carer of a disabled visitor should they need one.

If you bring along proof of disability (i.e. DLA letter, PIP) they will offer one additional free carer ticket. Visitors with disabilities will need to purchase a ticket suitable for them (Standard, Junior, or Concession).
